Verizon, a large mobile phone and VoIP US provider, suffered a nation-wide outage days ago: The Lincoln Police Department says Verizon's Voice Over Internet Phone (VOIP) malfunction has been resolved and 911 is now working for all users. According to Verizon, it was a nationwide problem. It did not affect Verizon cell phone customers or those who have traditional land lines. VOIP uses an Internet connection to make calls.
